Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
