Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks his initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better serving game.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional title, took control to force a decider.

Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
